Armaid Self Massage Tool Overview

Armaid was developed by Terry M.Cross (a registered massage therapist) to help people heal and maintain the overall condition of their arm.

He believes that “everyone should have the means to heal and maintain their own arm, elbow and hand health.”

How Does it Work?

The funky looking tool ultimately can, and will get the job done. It has the ability to adjust and massage virtually any part of the arm by rotating 360 degrees.

It was designed to reproduce the same effect that a massage therapist would have on your arm. The lever design gives you the ability to apply any preferred tension to the arm with your offhand. The tool can expand in size or decrease in size depending on the users arm.

Essentially the tool consists of two different components; one that resembles a foam roller and the other takes shape of three little massage balls. Together these two components help recreate the benefits of a deep tissue massage.

The tool will help reduce the chances of arthritis and increase the movement of your fluids in the lymphatic system. This will all help to reduce inflammation, and pain in your arm. It will also help increase range of motion and help you live more comfortably.

Who’s it For?

Armaid was practically made for anyone who is susceptible to experiencing hand/arm/wrist pain. It is especially made for those people who are doing repetitive tasks all day. These people have a high chance of developing a repetitive strain injury (RSI).

People who work a lot with their hands or tend to do the same activity all day with minimal rest can experience a repetitive strain injury.

The Armaid self massage tool might be helpful to those peoarmaid therapist self care massage toolple who have these specific jobs:

  • typists
  • office workers
  • heavy computer workers
  • assembly line workers
  • dentists
  • surgeons
  • etc.

Although I have listed some jobs above that may cause arm pain, I believe that a lot of people would benefit from this massage tool. We are all human beings and we all use our hands to get things done.

People who work at a desk all day would very much benefit from this product. It is easy to store in your office and you can use it whenever you feel the urge. I recommend using this tool habitually, even if you are not experiencing any kind of arm pain, prevention is the best medicine!

Personally I work at a desk for the majority of my day, by the end of it, my hands/wrists and arms are sore. I do keep one of these tools nearby (and a lacrosse ball) and I roll/massage my arms after each day.

Pros

  • Sturdy
  • Efficient and effective
  • Can apply pressure to any part of the arm
  • Easily adjustable
  • Don’t have to pay for a massage therapist
  • Can use at any time

Cons

  • Pricey
  • Hard to apply the right amount of pressure with the off-hand
  • Takes sometime getting used to (won’t feel right at the beginning)
  • Does have plastic materials
  • Feel like the side with the 3-massage balls could be improved upon

My Experience

I purchased this tool for my dad because he works on a assembly line and struggles with tendonitis in his arm/hand everyday. The package was received in a timely manner and I was excited to start using it (I wanted to try it out and see how it worked before I gave it to my dad).

Initially, it was tough getting the hang of the tool. After some time and some practice (couple days) I was able to utilize more of it’s potential.

My dad did not take an immediate liking to this tool. He thought that it was rather difficult to use and found that it was very painful. I encouraged him that the pain was unavoidable, and that in order to get better, he would have to endure some pain.

After some time, and a lot of pain, my dad started using this tool on a regular basis (and still does to this day). He also uses a lacrosse ball which is a great alternative. My dad and I feel that the  side with 3 balls could be improved upon though. We feel that if it was a single ball (shaped like a lacrosse ball) it would be more beneficial and easier.

The Verdict

I am giving the Armaid self massage tool a 7.5 out of 10. This is because it is a solid tool but it is not necessarily the easiest thing to get used to at the beginning. Also, I do believe it is a little overpriced, but with that being said, you will save a lot of money in the long run.

It really all comes down to preference. Some people love this product and rave about it. I, on the other hand think it is a useful tool (but not the best, and could be improved upon).

When rating this product, I looked at four things:

1. effectiveness: It is moderately effective once you get the hang of it

2. usability: It takes a decent amount of practice to get the hang of

3. efficiency: It is highly efficient once you get the hang of it

4. price: high

After I looked at this, I came to the conclusion that it is an overall decent product. If you are thinking about purchasing this product the only thing I would suggest is that you are willing to learn!
